Beat the FCC

Welcome to the ADCOMM Narrowbanding Resource Center!

The information here should help you plan your transition from wideband to narrowband. January 1, 2013, is the date the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has mandated that all systems be operating narrowband. However, after January 1, 2011, no new wideband equipment can be manufactured or imported into the United States. We are concerned many agencies will be surprised when they order new equipment after January 1, 2011, and find that it is not compatible with their existing system.

Information will be added to this page from time to time so please check it occasionally to see what changes might have occurred.

If you need assistance with your narrowband conversion, please give us a call. Our engineers have experience with many different types of systems and simulcast engineering is a speciality.

In addition to the documents you can download from our site below, you can also request a copy of our narrowbanding planning tool "Beat the FCC" that is in a game format. If you would like a copy of this planning tool, please contact Susan Seefeld.
